What is on site
Smith Bay Park is kept simple on purpose. Here is exactly what you can count on, and what you need to bring yourself.

- Staffed gate during park hours
Bring your own
What we do not have
- No food or drink vendors on site
- No chair, umbrella, or watersports rentals
- No lifeguards, at any hour
- No electrical hookups at the pavilions
- No potable water at the pavilions
- No overnight storage or setup the night before
Bring your own ice, coolers, water, and anything that needs power. Generators require staff approval in advance.
Park rules
Rules every guest agrees to
These apply to everyone in the park, whether or not you have a pavilion. Staff can end an event and clear a group for any violation, and the fee is not refunded in that case.
General
- Park hours are 7:00am to 5:30pm. Everyone must be out by closing.
- No glass containers anywhere in the park.
- No pets, except service animals.
- No camping, fires, charcoal grills on the ground, or fireworks.
- No driving or parking on the sand or the grass.
- Swim at your own risk. There are no lifeguards.
Cleanup
- Pack out what you pack in. Bag your trash and use the receptacles.
- Take down and remove all decorations, including tape, string, and balloons.
- Leave the pavilion and the surrounding area as you found it, by 5:30pm.
- Groups that leave a mess may be refused future reservations.
Needs staff review
- Alcohol. Tell us on the reservation form. No glass, and no sales of any kind.
- Amplified music. Speakers and DJ equipment need approval. Keep volume reasonable for other guests.
- Tents and canopies. Anything staked or freestanding needs approval, and placement is set by staff.
- Weddings and vow renewals. Reviewed individually before they are confirmed. $250.00.
Cancellation
Call 340-777-6300 or email info@mango.vi as early as you can. Cancelling with enough notice frees the shed for another family, and it is the difference between a refund and a forfeited fee. The Authority sets refund terms at the time you pay, so ask when you settle the fee.
The Authority may close the park or cancel reservations for weather, storm preparation, or emergency. If that happens, you will be contacted at the phone number on your reservation.
